our normal office hours. Our goal here is to speak with the client
directly and instruct them appropriately.
CLAIMS PROCESS AND PROCEDURES:
- To avoid further damage make any reasonable and temporary repairs.
- Don’t make any permanent repairs until after the claims adjuster has
been to your home or business and assessed the damage.
- Notify the fire department in the event of a fire loss or the police
in the event of a theft loss.
- Call your insurance agent or insurance company to report loss.
- Make a list of the all damaged items.
- Save Receipts and try to remember where and when you bought each piece
and how much you paid.
- Don’t throw anything away because the adjuster will need to see them.
- Obtain a bid from a reputable licensed and insured contractor. The
bids should include the type of materials to be used and detail price
for each.
- Make a list of questions you may want to ask the claims adjuster.
- Keep copies of all documents you submit to your claims adjuster.
Sometimes major disasters strikes and you may think about hiring a
Public Adjuster. You may use a public adjuster to assist you in settling
your claim.
Public Adjusters charge a fee for his or her services and the fee
isn’t covered by your insurance company. The rate varies by Public
Adjusters as much as 15 percent of the total value of your claim
settlement.
